THE PLOT TWIST OMG! THIS IS SUCH AN AMAZING BOOK! it’s really helped me get out of my reading slump. Highly recommend!!! I will say the author is a bit dramatic at times but the writing is INSANE.

I think the story has potential but the execution was a bit disappointing. There were so many parts that I had trouble believing were real and seemed part of the “movies” they kept mentioning; how can that many gruesome killings happen in one lifetime, let alone to one person?

I also had trouble following the story in terms of details regarding the other girls’ episodes, the killer’s motives, who is actually a good person or not, etc.

Part slasher, part study in trauma, this book is as empowering and emotional as it is grisly! I really didn’t like the protagonist for the first 100 odd pages, but she grew into her skin. I don’t think it had the balance of horror and reality that Hendrix’s other books that I’ve read had, but I enjoyed it all the same. I’d have scored higher if not for the slower start.
