I freaking loved this, it was my favorite in the series so far. From beginning to end I loved reading every page of this and was sucked in from the first page.

So, it turns out fo the previous two books, Constantine had been secretly dating Micah Bloom and of course we were none the wiser, and we get their story in this book and the how and why of it all.

Micah has a rival flower business to Constantine's mother's Ross Flowers and Landscaping business, and seeing as how when he's not part timing as a cop in O'Leary he's working for his mother for free, as she has been tough go of it financially for years, and Constantine feels that it is all his fault - it isn't - because of a teenage mistake he'd made.

He and Micah seeming don't like each other at first - that doesn't last long at all - but it's because they just don't know each other and have made assumptions, as people do. But they get under each other's skin like no one else.

Con is 24, and Micah is 40, but that is barely an issue in this book - which, I loved that it wasn't made into a big deal. They're both adults, so who cares if there's a sixteen year age difference? - although it does kinda play into why they keep a secret, it's not nearly the biggest issue.

It's funny that Constant started his romance with Micah before any of the other couples - except Ash and Cal in the .5 book - but this is the third book in the series. Their reason for not sharing at first is because Micah is Con's mother's rival and she would be pissed about it, but I think the real reason was that they were both scared, especially Constantine.

Con hides behind humor and deflections, pretending that everything is fine when it isn't. He thinks he's a positive person, but it's more than he pushes aside and buries all the negative shit he deals with and never deals with them head on. That's not actually being positive, and it takes Micah for Con to see that.

I loved these two together, they were electric from the first interaction. They had amazing chemistry and when they got into the more romantic side of things I felt their love too. Constantine was made out to be a player in the pervious books, not much one for commitment, and happy to fuck 'em and leave 'em - but actually the whole time there were other romances is going in the previous two books, Constantine was in a serious relationship - even if he couldn't admit it to himself for months - and a committed one at that, and was falling in love. They sure hid it well for a long time, although Constant meets Micah's family - where they live out of town, of course - months before their relationship is known to the town.

There is some drama at the end, but it made sense and didn't felt manufactured and it was resolved in a reasonable - and fairly quick - manner. I think also that the fact that there wasn't a mystery on this like in the previous two also really helped this one. I didn't mind the mysteries at all, they didn't detract from the stories in my opinion, but they also didn't entirely add all that much either. I know the mysteries got tied to the couples in some way and whatnot, but still. They weren't exactly needed overall, so I'm glad this book didn't have one of it's own either.

Great story, amazing couple with amazing chemistry, a great love story and a definite win for me in this series. Two massive thumbs up from me!

Micah and Constantine’s story was pretty lovely. I would have liked more time to see them together as a couple, and less time-skipping, but you can’t have everything.

This was the point where I sobbed:

“And then there’s the moment when you realize you’ve been looking at the world through the lens of your own fucking guilt for so fucking long, you’ve managed to distort the brightest and most beautiful thing in your life into something small and ugly, and you’ve turned someone’s gift into a stick to beat them with.”

In short: Good book. Solid writing. I wanted more.

This was a really sweet book. I like both characters and how they challenged each other, came together, and worked on both their personal and professional relationship. It's also great how the previous book and novella were intertwined in this story. This was a really wholesome grumpy/sunshine story with real characters.
