Cry count: 19.
This book reminds me of a fanfiction that I would’ve read in middle school, but in the best way possible. The simple language and the romance is what reminds me of it, but this is such a sweet story. The bad-boy comments made me cringe, but the sweetness of the rest of the book outweighs it.
This is a YA book, but I—a 24 year old woman—enjoyed this thoroughly and cried a good amount.
And the epilogue… oh man. Didn’t quite expect that, though it isn’t unpredictable. Good stuff.

“Well I have it on good authority that she wants a little more bad boy in her life”
I feel like this quote alone is enough for everyone to understand how cringe this book was. You’ll hear “baby” over a million times & it just feels so unauthentic for teenagers. I almost added it to my DNF list but I couldn’t bear to ruin my book streak lmao. I also listened to the audiobook and I must warn you to never ever listen to that. I had to listen to 4 different accents for 2 characters. 🙃

The book is very evidently YA, especially from the way it is written, and from the unrealistic portrayal of the relationship, but I loved it nonetheless. The pain this book caused me will require therapy.

That being said, this book was painful to read. The dialogue felt very cliche John green 2014. *SPOILER*
The descriptions of death were very “angels coming home” and tried way too hard to be inspiring. Also the MMC describing most of the women in town as “bimbos” and putting the FMC up on a pedestal was ~not enjoyable~.
It did have good family elements and was sweet at times, but it overall was not good.
