3.75 stars. I liked the first and last thirds of this book but the middle third (about working on a family farm in England) was really slow. Offerman’s voice is strong - you feel like he’s talking to you in the same way that Ron from P & R would. In addition to musings about the environment, you get some political viewpoints (quite liberal) and thoughts on capitalism.

I agree with Offerman on many fronts and quite enjoyed his stories. But as a whole they didn’t piece together nicely. The parts felt very separate. I didn’t expect first class literature and therefore am not disappointed. It lived up to the celebrity rant/inside scoop I was looking for.

I think the first part of the book was great talking about being outdoors, consumerism, farming and such. But the second half was all about politics and clearly how republicans are wrong in everything they do. Rubbed me the wrong way.
