3.5/5 stars. This was cute. I liked it a little less once they actually got together but a nice, breezy read. Enjoyed it more than Well Played.

A delightful rom-com with interesting, layered characters.

Emily's world fell apart when her fiancee of 5 years (and the man she put through law school) decided he had outgrown both her and their apartment. But she was needed to help her older sister after a horrible car accident, and so she moved to Willow Creek, Maryland to help her sister and teenaged niece.

Her niece wants to participate in the town's annual Renaissance Faire so she signs up to be a wench in the tavern. At rehearsals she encounters Simon, the faire's rigid organizer. The two don't get along IRL but their faire personas begin to warm to each other....

Cover: Cute. In the current style - light illustrations for rom-coms.
Narrator: This was a great role for Brittany Pressley. She always does a wonderful job!
Hogwarts Sorting Hat: I believe they're both Ravenclaws!

Themes: small town, family, Renaissance festival, obligations

Well, this book was an unexpected hidden gem! Well Met by Jen DeLuca was sweet, cute… and it had the enemies to lovers trope that I love so much. I just love how everything happens leading up to that middle ground and they come to an understanding and it just makes me want to hug the book.

In this case, e-reader because it was a library ebook.

Well Met kept me smiling throughout the whole book. It had so many good characters. I loved the small town charm aspect.

Plus, there’s a hot pirate. And a man in a kilt, which we all know from the synopsis at least.

I wasn’t expecting to like Well Met at all because it was a Renaissance Faire. I’ve never expressed interest in going to one and it never seemed like my thing, but this book has convinced me to go to the one that is sort of close by next year. I probably won’t find a Simon there though. Or Captain Ian Blackthorne.

Rom-com books are my go-to genre, most of them that I read were very good, but this one was perfect!! I think this is my firt time I'm giving a 5 star to a rom-com book and I don't regret one bit.
