I liked it but at times it felt like its dragging, maybe too much irrelevant flashbacks?

Two VERY big things that I have an issue with:
1. The dismissal of the whole situation where Damon tricked Winter into having sex with him, knowing damn well she wouldn’t consent if she knew who he actually was.
2. The fucking threesomes they keep having instead of therapy good Lord

Currently still crying bc I love Damon Torrence!
From the first book as soon as he appeared I highlighted "why do i kinda like this man rn" and i was hooked ever since!
I didn't think I would love this book as much as I do considering the main love interest is blind and I was unsure of how Penelope Douglas would go about in writing from her perspective! BUT SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!
I said it twice and I'll keep saying it in all my reviews! Penelope Douglas is the best author with her writing! I am completely immersed in the world she creates in these books and love each character she brings to life!
The plot twists that I did NOT see coming were *chefs kiss*
and the banter between characters and Damon were everything!!
At first I thought it was a bit too much writing from the past, but you have to understand where both of the main characters are coming from with their emotions in the present (if that makes sense lol).
(spoiler) I lowkey don't understand how Winter didn't know the "mystery man" wasn't Damon in the past when he kept coming to see her! He can't whisper the whole time!
Also, last book I wrote how there was a cliff hanger with Damon telling Erika a secret - we find out the secret here!

"This is black," he said. "Fear, falling, realease. Excitement, risk, danger." - Damon
"You scared the shit out of me," I told him. "Yeah, I do that." - Winter & Damon
It was always going to happen with us. - Damon
There is no you. There's no me. This is us. Just us. - Winter
he was my ghost - Winter
Everything with him was like home. - Winter
Who's your daddy? - Alex
"Tell me you love me, say it." "Someday" - Winter & Damon
Out of all the colors, I liked red the best. - Winter
If I ever thought I couldn't do something with her, then I wasn't doing it at all. - Damon

best
This book is the best in the series so far.
I was so unsure about it, and was not as interested in it at first. I rewound and listened to chapter 9 twice, (iykyk). Then I was like “something is happening in Damon I need to know about.”
I recommend this because he’s such a complex character.

I wanted to hate Damon but he ended up being one of the most interesting characters. Very morally gray, very messed up, but entertaining. And I get why he is booktok's favourite
