It would have been five stars but the pace felt a little too fast for my personal taste. I loved the characters, especially Leonard, so would have liked to have had more time at his different life points. However, as it's a children's book the pacing might be more suitable. This would be great to read along with a child and be great start conversations about racism, racist language and introduce the Windrush Scandal.
I think this could be adapted into a fantastic children's film or mini-series.
