Great small town mystery from multiple pov and a non-obvious ending. Good, evocative writing, and nice treatment of teen characters. If I'm being picky, I'd point out a slight Hallmark movie vibe in the subplot of two people attracted to each other dealing with self-imposed rules of romantic engagement. But they are likeable and rounded characters, and this helps the reader get past any little artificiality.

I really enjoyed this book up to the last pages. If you've read Craig Johnson's Walt Longmire books or the Longmire TV series based on them, this book is familiar - warm, likeable, human characters in dynamic situations that are well described and follow logically. Texas this time versus Wyoming, but the setting is similar. All excellent components. My only complaint with this book is that it ends abruptly without explicitly resolving much of anything. I think it's poor form if you can't make the story and the book both finish up at the same time.
