The term Anti-climatic may have a new synonym , and it's called “THE SPEED OF DARKNESS” Flash story arc.

What I Liked

The first thing that struck me was the changed art style , the weird art work from the past was really not only annoying but distracting , this new art work , I can readily get behind .

The story saw the return of Shade , who is one of the genuinely un-silly , and innovative villains of the Flash . The return of Shade means that this story arc had a lot of romantic angle in it which really was good to have . The return also connected a few dots for the Rebirth mysteries , but very few dots were actually connected

Similarly there was more exploration of the Flash and the new Kid Flash's relationship , the dynamic between the two was really good to see .

What I didn't Like

Somehow managing to do a 360 for major part of this story arc , the artwork was the real show stealer , while the plot looked very flimsy , it's not to say that the story was bad , it just wasn't a lot good.

There were a lot of descriptions and explanations that really bogged the story down and considering its a comic book it felt really heavy . Meanwhile the biggest dissapointment was the the conclusion where the evil is beaten by ,SPOILER ALERT!,
Spoiler Fist bumps
. Seriously? Yeah as i Said it was the new definition of anti-climatic.

Conclusion

Although the book had potential , in my opinion it didn't really live upto it and in the end the anti climatic finish really win it many favours . That's not to say the book was bad , it was simply average

Much like the show, this feels a little too kid-oriented for me. Decent for what it is, but not really my style.
