Frustrated with this …  while the world building is so interesting, this could have been half as long and covered the same territory. Sort of a ‘sound and  fury’ going on.
I kept wanting to quit, but really enjoyed the first book, which I finished not long ago . I kept thinking this would be worth the effort. Not sure I’ll read the final book, as much as I rather loved Livira and Evar,
and am curious about Arpix and Clovis.

I don't know if this series just isn't for me or if maybe I need to read it instead of listening to the audiobook, but I didn't like this book at all.  It is so painfully slow, and there is a lot of info dumping here.  To top it off, this book does a lot of time traveling, which is not a trope that I enjoy at all.

Things do get slightly more interesting about 15-20% near the end, but by then, I just didn't care what was going on or what happened to anyone.

Sad to say, but this might be the first Mark Lawrence series that I fail to finish.  I've enjoyed his other series, but this one is a big miss for me.
