This wasn't quite what I expected and the plot was rather far-fetched, but it was an easy book to read while I recovered from the flu. (NOT COVID!)

Weird ending.

Writing style wasn't for me.

This was a fantastic read. Full of suspense, mystery, and intrigue. Well written, easy to read, and good character development. Kept me guessing until the very end, with a lot of twists and turns along the way. I have found a new author that I like and look forward to reading more of his books.

I liked a few things about this book- the pacing was healthy, kept up intrigue, the way the POVs swapped between characters, even which characters were spotlighted and the jump in time frames were good decisions in my opinion. It wasn’t heavy handed on giving EVERY character the stage. It WAS heavy handed on foreshadowing for the events that played out. When there’s still three quarters of the book left you know somethings not right and that’s what the rest of the story will be- the way that played out seemed to rely too much on someone having a hunch they were being lied to, with no real reason to believe they weren’t being told the truth. Also a couple of unfortunate typos like “except” instead of “accept” and “insured” instead of “ensured.”
