I enjoyed this book but it was disappointing. I felt like it didn't really add anything to Jane Austin's world and a lot of things fit a bit too nicely, especially towards the end. Also, the sex scene was completely unnecessary.
Nicely written but disappointing.

A worthy addition to the Austen Universe. Includes Charlotte's perspective from the original novel, and realistic and entertaining futures following the events of P&P. Charlotte came to life. Loved being back in this world. Author respects and cares about these characters.
Graphic: Terminal illness, Child death, Pregnancy, Miscarriage, Grief, and Infertility
Moderate: Sexism
Minor: Infidelity, Vomit, Death, Classism, Antisemitism, Death of parent, and Sexual content

Splendid
A hot chocolate on a cold winter’s day of a book. I love Jane Austin and have read several reimaginings and continuations of her work, this is one of the most accomplished. Moffat interlaces extracts of Austen into her work, giving it a genuine feel, whilst T the same time managing to maintain her own individual voice.
Charlotte, Mrs Collins is a woman of sense and patience. Marrying for convenience with little hope of love due both to her station and apparent plainness she believes she is not worthy of romance. Charlotte is endearing, Sweet personifying the niggling doubt so many women have about their worthiness in the eyes of men. She is eminently sensible and clear headed in other matters, assisting her nearest and dearest immeasurably. These qualities lead to a life of firm friendships and solidity.
However, in Austen there must always be unexpected romance, that tingly loveliness that has us reading and rereading her work years hence, Charlotte does not disappoint on this either.
A joy of a book!

DNF after only the first chapter. Realised the book was going in a completely different direction than what I had thought and wanted from the book.

In this part sequel, part spin-off to Pride & Prejudice we reexperience portions of the novel through Charlotte’s eyes, as well as discover what happened to her after the book’s events.
This is one of the best Pride & Prejudice spin-offs that I have read to date. Every aspect of the book, from its writing to plot & character development, is superb. If you are a fan of Pride & Prejudice, I cannot recommend this book enough.
