All in all, this was an enjoyable book. It was a quick and easy read and it kept me engaged. However, it is not my favourite Alexandra Bracken novel, nor do I think it is the best example of just how good a writer she is. I found parts of this story frustrating, in the sense that plot points seemed to be over-explained before the characters themselves worked out things that the readers knew chapters ago.

But, it’s an enjoyable story with fun characters and an intriguing concept. (Bracken sure does win points for creativity and unique plots) I would definitely recommend it to fans of action-packed YA titles, especially those with an interest in mythology.

As is pretty commonplace in my reviews. Please check content and trigger warnings before reading. There are a couple of plot points in this story that do focus on situations that could be triggering to certain readers.

I really enjoyed this book. I will say the writing style was not my favorite and I would get lost in the middle of some scenes - but maybe I had been reading to fast. The twists kept coming and I didn’t see them from a mile away (and I like to think I’m pretty good at seeing plot twists in other books). Overall, the story was great and I loved seeing the depiction of the Greek gods through this book. It felt more accurate to the true myths of the gods and the story of Lore and her friends was captivating and something great to root for.
