An autobiographical account of Browder’s efforts to expose corruption and human rights abuses in Russia, ultimately leading to the passing of the Magnitsky Act, a US law that sanctions Russian officials who are deemed to be human rights offenders. This fast-paced book has it all - international financial crime, money laundering, bribery, tax fraud, Russian oligarchs, Swiss bank accounts, villainous law firms and assassinations by poisoning.

While I don’t always love Browder’s writing, I love his story. This was a great follow up to Red Notice, and all the more fascinating given that it moves into the Trump era and that we are currently more than a year into the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Great read about Browder's discovery of how Putin was laundering billions of dollars and Putin's attempts to track Browder down. Also sheds a ton of light on why Trump was so willing to bend to Putin (Putin had seemingly all sorts of leverage.) A great book that reads like a spy thriller.

I LOVED Red Notice & had very high expectations for this book. Unfortunately the first half of this book was a little hard for me to get through, but i’m glad i did ! The second half of the book is CRAZY & i loved seeing how Trump tied into everything.

I was between a 3.5 and a 4 for this book and ultimately decided it deserved the 4 stars. I felt a bit frustrated through the first few chapters as it seemed like a repeat of the first book Red Notice. After it picked up the pace and started moving through new information, I couldn’t put it down.

I learned so much about the magnitsky act, Trump, and the impacts of Russian corruption and money laundering worldwide. Bill Browder is an admirable unlikely hero.

Browder wrote another page turner explaining the money laundering at the heart of Putin's stranglehold on power. This one I finished in one sitting.
