Thank you Libro.fm for a ALC of Let's get Quizzical in exchange of my honest opinion.

Let's get Quizzical is a dual POV second chance romance where both main character's families are in a bad position financially and they enter, without knowing about each other, to this trivia competition to win the cash prize. Charlotte and Eli were once sweethearts in high school, but they had a fall out when Eli ghosted Charlotte. Now they ended up being paired in this trivia show and will have to work out their differences.

This book is heavy on the drama. Both Eli and Charlotte have very complicated issues at home which makes their motivation to win several times higher. I personally liked it because also makes the stakes higher and certain decisions having more values and consequences. Charlotte's grandmother is dying and she needs the money for the medical expenses. While Eli and his father are trying to make ends meet while keeping his father out of jail during his parole.

The book has good tidbits for trivia that I quite enjoyed and the romance aspect was very heartfelt.

There were a few plot holes that makes me detract points of this book. My main drawn back was the addition of another plot point for Charlotte that was not properly tied at the end and you keep wondering why was even there to begin with. Those scenes with her estranged grandfather was super unnecessary since his relationship with the family was not resolved. Also, I was not convinced that Eli's financial situation was resolved at all.

Although it was not a super light read because of the drama, overall I thought it was a nice and cute.

I really wanted to like this book, but I couldn't get past the first 1.5 chapters. Charlotte spouts off random trivia/facts throughout her inner dialogue that weren't well incorporated at all. It was clunky and took me out of the story each time one came up (which was often).

I also read other reviews that said the reason behind the main characters falling out back in high school and it was basically nothing. Like how are you still mad about this yearssssss later? I decided not to waste my time.

Let's Get Quizzical is a fun, fast-paced second-chance romance centered around a game show. The FMC, Charolette, gets picked to be on the show and locks eyes with one other contestant, her high school sweetheart, Eli. They ended things on bad terms, so when they are paired together live on the show, it is a bickering mess ( THAT I LOVED AND ATE UP!). They are both in financial trouble and forced to work together. Speaking of force, the central trope other than second chance is forced proximity. Between the game show and the hotel room, tensions were HIGH. I enjoyed the pacing of this book and liked how the chemistry and tension started immediately with no slow burn. With a unique plot line, I recommend this to all romance lovers.

Thank you, Kelly Ohlert and Alcove Press, for the ARC in return for an honest review.
