From the beginning I felt like the story was going to fast. There was no actual built up. The ending was expected. A bit disappointed. A good yet very disturbing story. Expected a better execution.

Oh, now y'all know Mr. Massey always bring some craziness right?! And this one was no different.

That psychological thriller vibe was clear from the first paragraph. And then as the story goes on you just keep yelling at the book because why is Monica so blind to the fact that all the bad things have started to happen since her "mama" came to the house?

Then Grace just keeps pushing and pushing to be called "Nana" even after being told that the kids other grandmother has already claimed that name. That's not going to work for her lol though. She was like nah there will only be one "Nana" and that will be me and only me.

Then she started with her antics toward the husband and I was too through. I was so glad to finally see someone start doing some investigation. I am just saying that if you come around claiming to be my birth mother after never meeting me, no ma'am, STRANGER DANGER.

The ending was really weird but either way the story was decent and all the twists made for a good read. I friend even sent me another Brandon Massey book that I cannot wait to dig into. I am definitely a fan.

Nana was the most unhinged character I’ve read about this year.

This was my first blind read and what a wild read it was. I don’t have too much to say other than it was written really well and it was nice to read something with black characters. I’d still like to know what the hell Grace was 😭 it kind of leaves you hanging in the end there. But at least it was a happy ending.

This book was so fun ! I wish it had ended a tad differently lol but otherwise I had raised eyebrows quite a bit and it kept me hooked

Very very odd, also unnecessarily sexual? The characters were not likable and some of the issues were never addressed at the end..

I wanted to like this, but the characters made it impossible. I also did not like the misogyny of the husband.
