Read the paperback. 3.5 stars. This was a pretty good book. I saw a lot of 1 or 2 star reviews when I first started it, and I don't really understand why. Is this book amazing and great? No, but it's a solid story with a lot of truly creepy things happening. There are some scenes that'll definitely stick with me (bees, no thank you). Where I dock stars is in the writing. At times, I simply could not picture what the author was writing, despite re-reading passages at times. He simply left out details that made it tough to picture certain things. Towards the end, when lots of crazy things were happening, I found myself reading faster, not really trying to understand every little thing. Overall, I recommend it to people who like creepy stories, and are ok with some gore (haha just kidding, LOTS of gore).

I’m not a fan of the many small short chapters versus longer ones especially with cliffhanger endings for almost all of them. That being said, the gore and creatures in this book are FANTASTIC! Very graphic and clearly described so you can easily visualize.
