Priya Parker details the important details of gathering-how you make your guests feel and how you connect them to one another or a purpose.
This book seemed better suited for event planners than your average host...but there were a few things I will remember to do in the future. I wish she had cut out some of the (rather verbose) examples, though. Got to be a bit of a slog at the end.

I loved this so much I ordered a copy to keep as a reference. It made me rethink every wasted opportunity and turn towards upcoming events with ideas for making them better.

frankly, i think anyone would benefit from reading this book. this is absolutely the kind of book that as soon as you start reading and someone mentions anything about a party, conference, etc you're gonna say "have you read the art of gathering?"
not everyone's cup of tea but it was VERY much my cup of tea, i was nodding along the whole read and enjoying the way she makes her case for the way to bring people together. gathering in community is so precious, let's be intentional about it!!!!!!!
