Loved the book. It was a funny, light read. Perfect book to read while breastfeeding in the middle of the night.
I was familiar with Mindy Kaling from The Office. While I thought her character Kelly was funny, I try not to be friends with women who fake pregnancies. But Mindy is no Kelly; she's a funny writer and actress. Forever Young Adult wrote a post about Mindy which inspired me to read this book (and binge watch The Mindy Project). I'm glad I did because she's a sassy, intelligent woman and I really enjoyed reading this book.

I had no idea who Mindy Kaling was. I've never seen The Office, and am pretty sure I've never seen her in anything else, either. But I got a glimpse of the book somehow -- I think at Book Expo America last year, and it looked cute, so I gave it a whirl.
And it was, indeed, cute. I enjoyed it quite a bit -- Kaling's voice is that of someone who is, for sure, going to be my friend someday. We just haven't met yet.

As always, Mindy is super funny in Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me. She is unfiltered and there were several times I was borderline shocked by what she was saying. Laughing along with Mindy's teenager troubles, taking a moment to consider if I too should move to New York and hearing the beginning stages of the rise of a Hollywood icon was thoroughly entertaining and informative.
