This was a beautiful book. Very nuanced and reflective. The author said everything he needed to say without being harsh. Despite dealing with homophobia l, toxic masculinity, xenophobia, and racism, he was able to retell his life without bitterness or casting  anyone as the villain. But it was clear where he stood and that he knew the way he was treated wasn’t fair. Balancing loved ones with beliefs who are contradictory to who you are as a very person is no easy task, but he wrote it all effortlessly.
