This book was dark, grime, and a thrilling masterpiece.
This book follows Ava Kirilova, the Prima ballerina for a London dance company. Her father, Nikolai Kirilova, is adapting the famous ballet ‘Swan Lake’ into a stage production, using his rigorous Russian ways to instruct and strike fear into the ballerinas.

“Her ambition overrides her common sense. The urge to be the best dancer, to get to the top quicker than the others, was always stronger than the compulsion to dance. Sometimes she is scared of it. Like it could make her do terrible things.”

These characters had their own motives, equally enchanting, like the ballet they are set to preform. The further you go into the book, the further the information could with what you thought you knew about these characters.
Some might lie.
Some might commit scandalising acts.
And some are not who they appear to be.

This book made me fall in love with this ballet all over again, enriching me into this dark and gritty tale about love, deception, and how far someone will go for their happy ending.
