Character developments ahoy! I enjoyed this a lot. I am a little sick of Riley and his pig, but I really enjoyed the developments for Genevieve in this book and the next steps in a couple of the other relationships going on. And this series is just so calming to read - you can sit down and relax into the company of old friends.

Still a good book but the least favorite of mine from the Blessing's series. I didn't love that Riley seemed to flip around so fast from self-centered to self-realization. The quick romance between his ex-wife and T.C. also felt a little too fast. There wasn't much growth from the other characters that we're used to seeing from the other books. It's often very little but this is one series I enjoy seeing these.
Not a long review but, for all the length of this book, I didn't feel like there was much going on.

Another good book by Beverley Jenkins

Returned to Henry Adams to get a glimpse into the crew. I love these stories and can't wait for the next story installment. These stories can go on forever!

I just love the Blessing series and learning about the lives of the Henry Adams residents. The books are so heartfelt and I feel like I learn a little bit more about the good side of humanity with each story. In this installment we meet TC, an older man that is functionally illiterate. I've known an adult or two that were also illiterate and have seen them cleverly navigate the obstacle without revealing their secret. I applaud Jenkins for bringing the issue to light in such a nuanced and respectful way. This installment also allows us to see how many of the young people have blossomed since the 1st book. Lastly, it left just enough mystery to make me rush and find the last of the series. When it is over I will miss this series but am happy that I've found a new favorite author.

Not a bad addition but not my favorite. I really loved Gen's story arc here though.

This was another enjoyable visit to Henry Adams, KS. It was a little bittersweet, however, as we watch the older kids preparing to move on. There are only two more books left in the series and I know I am going to have a book hangover when I finish the last one.
