BRIEF SYNOPSIS: Bianca is set to prove to her dad that she has what it takes to take over the family business. Even if that means meeting with clients at a hunting lodge in Alabama. What she didn’t count on was catching feelings for the attractive owner. Jack really didn’t expect to develop feelings for the city girl who’s staying at his lodge for a business meeting. But there’s something about her that he can’t resist. These two are total opposites. It shouldn’t work….but could it ?

I was so excited to stumble upon this author because she is an Alabama girl who writes romances set in Alabama and as an Alabama girl myself, I knew I had to read it. And if this just wasn’t the cutest thing. This is an opposites attract, city girl/country boy romance and it was so adorable. There were a couple of twists in this plot that I didn’t see coming at all, and I really enjoyed where this story went. The airport scene had me cracking up and I could totally see that scene on my TV screen.

I really enjoyed seeing Bianca branch out and take some chances. She’s a typical “city girl” but she lets her guard down and even enjoys country life. And I loved that even after she left the lodge she didn’t completely abandon either persona. She found a way to still be the powerful businesswoman she had been, but with a mix of the laid back country girl she had become on her trip.

If you love Hallmark movies, clean romances, or small towns where everyone knows everyone’s business then you should check this one out. Thank you to the author for sending me a copy!

3.5 stars.

- dual POV
- country boy and city girl

Felt a bit instant love which isn’t my favorite. I did think the hunting aspect was unique as I’ve never read a rom com with hunting as a main focus. I felt like I learned a lot (officially a city girl). It was cute but felt a bit long as some parts. Not a bad romance for sure. Just not my favorite either.

[3.5 Stars] As a native Alabamian myself who moved from the big city (Birmingham) to a working farm in a small town after I got married, Hunting for Love was a relatably cute book on the Hallmark-y side of things. However, all of the country boys (men?) that I know don't *exactly* speak/internal monologue the same way that Jack does. 😉 I also would have liked some more character development since I'm not a huge fan of instalove.

Still a cute book, though.

I liked the overall concept of the book, but it was lacking a bit for my taste. Bianca comes off as way too shallow and fussy in the beginning to be likable at the end. For example, she judges people for eating ‘game’ meat and later judges a vegan for order salad even though he behaved just like she did earlier in the book. Also, I don’t understand why it seems like Atlanta is New York, I’m not sure if it’s to justify how extra Bianca is or if it’s to further compare the differences of a small hunting town to a metropolitan area.

Definitely a cute rom-com read though!
