I tried starting this book a couple of times, and it didn't quite stick initially. But this time, I was determined to read it, and I loved it! It was very cute! I definitely want to read the rest of the series. I've already picked up a copy of the first book.

In spite of my slow start to this book, it wasn't necessarily a slow read. I'm something of a mood reader, so I just wasn't in the mood when I first tried to read it. But when I was in the right mood, it was a quick, fun read.

This was a slow burn.
I liked both main characters and the book had more to offer apart from romance and steamy scenes.

The anxiety, grief and insecurity were well-described.

I am really really enjoying the brown sisters! I do find that Talia Hibbert writes smut in a way I don’t particularly enjoy, but I love her characters so much. She does such a fantastic job of writing a diverse cast and integrating mental health representation and truly unique personalities!

4.5

4.5!!

i admit being more biased towards this than get a life, chloe brown lol

this book has the perfect recipe for a romcom: sugar, spice, and everything nice!

βœ“ a nice and sweet -but can also be smug! (in bed 🀫)- hopeless romantic male lead who reads romance novels!
βœ“ friends to lovers and fake dating trope
βœ“ entertaining and funny sarcasm

this book also displayed more of the brown sisters' relationship - that's a plus. although i can assume now that talia hibberts' novels must be frequently horny lol. but the lust in here wasn't as disturbing (for me) as in chloe brown's entry. i appreciated talia hibbert's writing in get a life, chloe brown, but i much particularly prefered this one because it portrayed wider range of relevant topics including mental health, sexuality, feminism, dealing with PTSD, trauma, and anxiety; personal and relationship growth. i could forgive every complaint i had in get a life, chloe brown for this. (not that it mattered anyway)

just one little thing: #DrRugbae??? really?

ps. Zaf the best man 🀟
pps. excited to meet eve brown :'D
