(3.75) Less of a heist novel and more of a compelling character study of five AAPI students on the brink of adulthood and all the questions and decisions that come with it. It's a character study disguised as an adventure novel, examining all these complex themes of identity and family, expectations and the choices that make us. I really loved it, and only wanted more of these characters, if only to see some of the relationships explored a little better.
