A gorgeously written and poetic (if you skip chapter 11) novel about the dangers of hedonism, narcissism and the pursuit of eternal youth by damming your own soul. Oscar Wilde has a knack for writing a story that not only makes for the perfect psychological horror novel but also one that is full of insane quotes you can brood over for hours and hours. This is certainly one I feel I will have to read multiple times to fully appreciate every little quote and ounce of dialogue. I am going to have to find an unedited, uncensored edition of this because I would love to read what Wilde intended in the suggested themes.

“The books that the world calls immoral are the books that show the world it’s own shame” is a quote that has kept its relevance.
