Loved this tale of 3 generations of black women overcoming adversity. Relationships were really well handled.

No words I can offer to describe this book are sufficient. It is a triumph, a heart breaking, gut wrenching, joyous novel depicting three generations of remarkable African American women. Read this book. It is breathtaking from beginning to end.

I enjoyed many elements of this book. I am not familiar with many aspects of American culture. I have been to Tennessee Nashville & Memphis respectively and feel like I understand the culture historically of Memphis. This is not a happy book. But it is an important one.
