I thought this book was so sweet! I loved how they tied in love stories with the stories of rescuing pilots and Charlotte. I think this is my favorite Kristin Harmel book yet!

I enjoyed this perspective of the rescue route for pilots as another perspective. There were so many things Ruby went through. I enjoyed the growth of her and Charlotte. The ending was sad but also so beautiful in its own way. Through the book I had no idea who was in the poppy field. The. Hanged in perspective were done so well.

Oh my, did this hit me in all the feels... I felt love, fear, and greif... And then I felt them all again.

This was a beautiful story of the weaving of 3 peoples very different lives during WWII in Paris France. The rich characterization made it quite compelling.

Kristin Harmel is a powerful writer in this genre and once again she doesn’t disappoint with a novel that is loosely based on real French resistance fighter who was American born. Fantastic book. Triggers: still birth
