I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book. I had heard good things, but I’m only just now getting into the romance genre so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
I was absolutely blown away. While I wish the romance had more build up or implied time knowing each other, it didn’t take me out of the story overall. I found the narration hilarious and the narrator really brought it home.
While the 3rd act conflict wasn’t the best I’ve ever read and was a bit abrupt, it mostly made sense for the characters. Overall it didn’t take too much from my enjoyment of the book.
Also the spice was great, best I’ve read in ages.

After finishing this book I wrote a thank/love letter to the writer on twitter. Here is it;
Dear @TaliaHibbert, in the last years I dreaded reading but I've never cried, laughed, blushed and been aroused as much as by Chloe & Red's story. At times I couldn't believe I wasn't reading my own thoughts. As painfull as that was, it was amazing too.
Somehow I thought it was a good idea to start reading the book on a family vacation. The times I had to explain my laughing and crying were answered with happiness. The times I had to put down the book, look at my friend and say "this is to spicy to read here": uncountable.
It was the first time reading my symptoms like this, the things I go though on the daily, yet they weren't mine. Some moments it was scary how much Chloe's fibro and mine are alike, not only the physical but also the mental & social implications.
We differ in the fact that my ADHD makes me do a tad bit to much spontaneous things nowadays. Whoever put an adhd brain in a chronically fatigued body is definitely a fan of torture. Still, the ever protecting part of my brain is there. Like Chloe's.
And all these tweets don't even cover, can't even cover, how much I love the little lines about Red loving Chloe's belly. Or how Red, in his looks & wit, is exactly my type. And how some scenes are written inspire me to continue my own writing.*
You might not even read all of this, as your account is an updates account, yet I just have to write. Thank you for this book. Thank you for the characters. The only thing I'm sad about is that I'll never be able to read for the first time again.
Oh and that I'm allergic to most if not all cats. I miss my cat at my parents and want my own smudge. Though I prefer not to rescue them from tree. I'm sure I'll find my Red(s), he/she/they, one day. Sadly my building doesn't have a superintendent. Love, Felicia

okay, I liked this way more than I thought I would. chloe and red are perfect for each other. I love love!!!
I didn’t know chloe had fibromyalgia (twin!) when I downloaded the book, and I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually some good chronic illness representation. i’m assuming hibbert isn’t disabled or has a chronic illness from her note at the beginning, so i’m happy she wrote about this topic with a lot of grace and respect. chloe has a personality outside of her illness and she doesn’t wallow every day and she doesn’t hate her life, like a lot of disabled characters in media seem to do. she has good days and bad days, and she’s still a person outside of her illness; she’s not one-dimensional. and red doesn’t coddle or baby her either — if she needs help, he assists, but it’s not because he views her as inept. he respects and loves her and treats her like a person (and his love language seems to be acts of service anyway, so fibro or not, he would be behaving the same way). it was really nice to read about a character with an almost spot-on situation to mine be treated with so much love and care from her significant other and not be treated like a burden.
i’ve actually never read a book that treated a chronically ill character in such a way so I am just over the moon right now, she did a wonderful job.
in terms of spice: I didn’t hate it but at times it seemed a little corny (referring to dialogue) and…underwhelming 😶🌫️ it wasn’t bad though!
things i wish that were different: I do wish that red’s mom was present in more than just the start of the book. I think it also would’ve been nice if he had a conversation with chloe about his mothers illness because I think it made an impact on him which in turn impacts how he treats chloe. & I know people groan about lighthearted romance being more than, like, 350 pages, but I think adding more pages would’ve benefited the story, actually. like I wish that there was a bit more romance between the incredibly public extracurricular activities and the misunderstanding at the end. it needed a bit more fluff!
I did really like it though & I will be downloading the next book to my kindle immediately after I finish typing this 🫶🏻

The speed in which I read this book once I finally sat down and just did nothing for hours but just enjoy the story of Chloe and Red. I don’t know why it took me so long to read this book but am so glad that I finally did pick it up finally. I can say right now that I really enjoy Talia Hibbert’s writing and can’t wait to read about the other two Brown sisters soon.
One of the main reasons I picked this book up was that Chloe was a bigger girl and she found love in the book - and I love seeing plus size girls and women falling in love and being happy forever. The other reason I wanted to read this was how much people loved it online and I wanted to see some of the rep in the book.
While reading I found myself giggling, kicking my feet in the air, and having such a fun time with the characters here. I found myself relating a bit to Chloe in different aspects of her life and feeling happy to know that she was in her early 30s finding this love, so me in my late 20s still has time to find it myself with my own Redford.
I am giving this book four stars because I really enjoyed the book. The only thing I didn’t like was how often there was miscommunication between the characters (JUST TALK! USE YOUR WORDS!) even though it made sense with who they were and maybe if they had had some sort of revenge against Pippa & Henry - like just revenge by showing how much happier Chloe & Red were together and without the others! . However other than that - a great book and I highly suggest it!
