Funny, sweet, sexy, heartwarming - this book was a delight. I went into it knowing it had been very popular in the contemporary romance genre and not much else, and was pleasantly surprised to find one of my favorite reads of the year.

It really took off for me about 30% in (that's been a theme this year - taking about a month to read the first 30-40% of a book until it grabs me, and then devouring the rest in a few days.) The banter gets SO good and the chemistry crackles. Love the represention here with the disabled/chronically ill POC main character, the interracial/class differences in the romantic relationship, fat-positivity and more. There is discussion of chronic illness, abusive/manipulative past relationships, abandonment, burn out, mental health/therapy... this book has a lot of depth!

It's also just a really beautiful love story, demonstrating how paying attention and sharing the load can make such a difference. Red is one of the sweetest and kindest men I've encountered in fiction in a long time, truly a pleasure to read. And Chloe is so incredibly sympathetic, clever and lovely as well. Looking forward to reading the other books in the series featuring her sisters!

This book could've earned 4.5 stars for just for the fibromyalgia representation alone. I have never once felt so seen, and I will be sending this book to friends to help supplement their understanding of what I experience.
It earned a 5 because the characters really are wonderful, the romance is great, and they act quite believably given the backgrounds they both have.
I really didn't want the act 3 breakup, and thought for a moment that it might lower my rating, but when it was all said and done I think it was a beautiful illustration of the difference between useless chronic pain, and the types of growing pains that we can't live without.

Reading this felt like watching my favorite romcom film. It's sweet, funny, and incredibly heartwarming. There's so much emotional pining that you just want to pull the characters together and make them kiss as if they were dolls, a lot of hilarious scenes that you can't help but laugh at (I lost it when Chloe tried to save that damn cat; I legitimately couldn't stop cackling, my mom thought I was going crazy), and a ton of achingly vulnerable moments that just make you want to wrap the characters in a warm, cozy blanket and protect them from this cold, cruel world. Though I finished the book a while back, it still lives in my mind rent free, and needless to say, I will not shut up about it for the foreseeable future.

10/10. This may be the best book I've ever read. It was beautifully written and some of the lines in this book made me feel so deeply. As a person with chronic pain and personality very similar to Chloe (with a strong dash of abandonment trauma), I resonated so incredibly deeply with Chloe. Also, the caring, redheaded man who unabashedly worships his girl could not have been more my type unless he was also given glasses. Red swept me off my feet the same way he did Chloe and if he were a real person, I would fight tooth and nail to make him mine. However, considering he's fictional, I would have to say that he and Chloe are a perfect match. I loved the back and forth 3rd person POV shift between focusing on both Chloe and Red's inner lives. Also, the spicy scenes definitely made me feel many feelings but so did the flirting scenes. This book is now tied for my favorite romance. I will never stop thinking about this book and especially my number 1 book boyfriend, Redford Morgan.
