Historical fiction isn’t really my thing but since thisthis had a good rating, I tried it. And overall it was okay, hence three stars (on my rating scale, 3 is decent). The writing was good, it was easy to follow the jumps between characters, and I did want to find out how it ended, but after all the drama, the ending was tied up way too quickly and neatly.

I love dual timelines for their eventual convergence, and this struck just the right note by the end. Happy to envision a better future for Eleanor, Ruby, and Willa.
