When I started it, it turned out different than what I expected but the more i read the more and more I enjoyed it. It definitely is the first part of a story and gives the groundwork. Very curious about the second one!

I thought this was probably a 4 star book that I’d be happy to listen to again, but this is actually living in my head rent free!
Kvothe Is a flawed but loveable character (and given his trauma, his flaws are completely understandable)… I loved the split timeline - for once I felt like both timelines added to the story, rather than one being the main storyline and the other being “buffer material”.
Denna is intriguing and while she was interesting in this book, I’m not sure where she fits into the story long term.
I thought this was probably a 4 star book that I’d be happy to listen to again, but this is actually living in my head rent free!
