A very odd, yet remarkable book. Half theological/philosophical treatise. Half medieval history. It rambles and meanders and never quite wraps itself up, simply fading away at the end. But something about it grabbed me.

Impressive historical which uses as its starting point, I suppose, the same as that of Charles Stross' Laundryverse series. Had this on my shelves (shelf) at the same time as "Profundis" which made one of my friends think I was reading books in Latin. Not though. Errare humanum est.
