Very detailed guide on using roundwood with useful color photos, including: types of wood best suited, tools, cutting joints. Slightly limited by the UK perspective, but the ideas can be applied to most temperate regions.
The only downside is that the suggested frame doesn't take into account passive solar design. There is no thermal mass in the floor as the house sits on piers. But you can take the general ideas of roundwood and apply them to your passive solar design, it will just take a little more work.
