Reading the series back as an adult is strange. Its probably relatable for teens (i wasnt a teen interested in sex so im not really sure), but as an adult the age difference, the pressure to have sex and the almost-stereotypical way its handled is disappointing.

cannot believe The Princess Diaries movies are canon in the book series! and i SO agree with Mia when she says she cannot believe that the producers made her and Michael break up in the movies, because there's no WAY Skinner Box would get a record deal on account of the members being busy getting college degrees. to quote her from the fourth book : MM + MT = LOVE 4EVER! love how Meg Cabot mentions the movie at random times just to diss them for the creative freedom they took. lmfao.
also the gang is so real for ranking Chris Pine as a hottie. this was not how i expected to find out that The Princess Diaries 2 was his debut movie!? (am i right?)

also congratulations to Princess Mia for being elected as the Student Council President of AEHS! i, too, wish the spirit of one of my confident ancestors would possess me at a time of need.

we got less Michael in this book than i would've liked but he was so sweet in all the scenes. (especially that speech at the end.) younger me believed that Michael was the most romantic boyfriend ever, and younger me was SO right.
although i do think that Michael's college roommate's name doesn't really sound very correct....

I honestly hate the way Mia chooses what random situation (in this case comment from Lana) she is going to choose to obsess about until -usually- Michael or someone else in her life, has to get her to chill.

I get it, in this case it's sex, and being a teenager, it's daunting to think about, but all through these books if Mia just communicated, maybe the story could move along a little better.

The books have really lost the essence that made them good in the first few installments. But all Mia does now is whine and complain, and it's becoming unbearable.

Struggling to get through the series at this point, but am commited to finishing this once and for all.
