In a fascist England of the near future one masked man dares to challenge the leaders. He is a terrorist who tries to change England and its people and he knows how to achieve this mission.
Many topics are covered and especially the part about freedom was breathtaking. The method was extreme and caused a radical change. You can also feel imprisoned without being in an actual prison and then one day, when everything is over, the rain will fall into your face and you will feel free as described in the book. It's very powerful and worth fighting for.
Compared to the film I have to say that the book is inferior. The story worked better and was more believable so in total I would give the book 4.5 stars out of 5, rounded up to 5.
One thing that annoyed me was the font. There were times when I had to guess the meaning of the words and wished I had brought a magnifier. Native speakers probably won't have this problem.

I was curious. You can see the age of this book so obviously now but also how much it's influenced current pop culture discourse around revolutionary movement. Fascinating if not a little horrific.
