So, what happens when a friend recommends a book series (this one) when there are 20 of 'em out? You read through them so fast, that the remainder of your sanity tells you that you haven't the time to review them all individually ('cause we can't call screaming internally and sighing in happy glee "reviewing").

I will say this much about the books. Most series lose their initial luster as the story progresses, almost like the plot gets thinner...not this series. The plot just keeps getting thicker (*inside snicker*) and a lot more complex in an infuriating yet exhilarating way. Oh, and the smut is, of course, wonderful, doesn't opaque the story, and it really is just *chef's kiss* This book, in particular, was a wonderful, unexpected surprise, with the characters and plot. And I do remember my mind feeling like it imploded at one point.

And now I rue the day I let my friend recommend it 'cause she will *never* let me live this down (the fact that I *devoured* them so quickly) for as long as I breathe. Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh ^.^;

Some important notes that bear mentioning: first, reviews are highly subjective, including mine. My opinion is meant to give an overview of what I saw/felt when I read it (and how it may or may not have made my brain explode). What I see might not be what you see, and what I like (or don't) might not be what you enjoy, which is just fine. My advice to anyone looking into a book? Read the premise, and if it interests you enough, give it a chance and form your own opinion.

Nalini Singh does an amazing job of creating a story that weaves through multiple series’ and even just a long series of stand alones. She has created one of the most amazing worlds in her psy-changling series. If you enjoy paranormal fantasy with romance thrown in then all of her psy-changling books are a must read!

I loved it and read it in one sitting! I'll write a proper review closer to the release date.

Extremely good story of two damaged and powerful individuals, who find each other after many years because of a potential catastrophe on the PsyNet.

The only issue I had with this is that what was happening on the PsyNet sometimes I struggled with the description of what was taking place.

I also liked the side story of Arwen and his bear. I read Storm Echo and realising I'd somehow purchased and not read this book, I new I had to come and read the story on Ivan's brothers.

A remarkable addition to the series.

3.5 stars

WELL.

Don't get me wrong, a Nalini 3.5 is still great - it's just not doing it for me the way Alpha Night did. I love Canto and Payal, but I think the romance got sidelined by all the worldbuilding.

I might revise the rating higher after I reread.

Anyway, MY CLAN! THE BEARS!!!! So many bears in this, I love it.
