life comes at you fast

Just like the TV show in terms of story, even if the art isn't 100% solid.

Farscape is back! Ahhh how I've missed all the outer space fun and frolics! This volume sets up the continuation of the series nicely offering a smooth transition from the TV series and the end of the Peacekeeper Wars. It can be enjoyed as a complete story - reminiscent of a two part episode and yet has some mysterious goings on that leave you anticipating volume 2! If you are a fan of the show then I recommend this, if not, then go treat yourself to a Farscape marathon then come back and read it!

I really enjoyed this, the characterisation felt like genuine Farscape as did the plot/antics, and it transferred well to the comic book medium. Looking forward to reading the rest!

I was almost tearing up while reading this. I still am, to be honest. Farscape holds such a dear place in my heart, I'm so glad that its creator, Rockne S O'Bannon was involved in the writing of this continuation. It picks up right where the story finished at the end of The Peacekeeper Wars and this 4-part collection concerns itself mainly with Rygel regaining his long sought-after throne on Hyneria.

The whole storyline was utterly believable and in keeping with the tv show. I could hear the voices of the characters clearly, like I had a direct link to Pilot's communications. Above all, it was wonderful to see how much Rygel has grown and that one character at least, managed to find their way home. The mysteries of Deke's (D'Argo jr) time-slowing ability and the black-hooded creature stalking the Crichtons are obviously going to be the major story arc. I can't wait to find out what that all means.

I can't help but compare this to Buffy's Season 8 as both comics are continuations of a much-loved show. I think, however, that Farscape does it better. Buffy's S8 was too different to the show, the setting particularly and the way the characters (including Buffy herself) didn't seem to be acting the way we knew them to be. The Farscape series looks and FEELS the same as it's still primarily on Moya and the characters are true to themselves.

This was good enough. My main complaint was how Aeryn was portrayed as a new mother. She seemed weaker, more insecure, and less capable than she was in the TV show. These traits were not part of her character before. I did like how realistic the characters were illustrated.

This comic continues the story of Farscape, picking up where the Peacekeeper Wars left off . . . it perfectly captures the spirit and flavor of the Farcape show, since it was written by the same person (Rockne S. O'Bannon). A worthy successor to a great TV show . . .

3.5 rounded up. I enjoyed this volume more the second time around. The art can be inconsistent, but the closing story arcs are satisfying. I'm unsure about the newly introduced storylines, but I'm excited to see where they go.

For fans of the Farscape series, these graphic novels are a welcome continuation to the plot and characters otherwise unavailable.

This first book is dedicated to Rygel and his attempt to regain his former throne. Crichton and Aeryn also come to terms with becoming parents, Chiana and Jothee deal with D'Argo's death, and Scorpius deals with life without Scarrans.

Overall this could have fit into 2-3 show episodes, and it makes sense that it feels like television because that's what Rockne's used to writing.

Fall 2018:

I bought this at DragonCon and read everything except the last some 30 pages on the very-delayed flight home. I originally read it as the single comics were being released, and it was nice to read it again after sitting on a panel with one of the authors (who both sold me my copy and signed it). I definitely still love this series, and all its characters. I love know where they go and what happened to them, both past and present.
