I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I enjoyed reading this book. The story drew me in right away and I read this book very quickly once I got around to reading it. I found the area of Cornwall to be a very interesting setting and the language used in the book to describe things was unfamiliar to me at times which led to it feeling more authentic. The mystery presented in the book itself was intriguing. While there were some things related to the plot I saw coming, there were other things that took me completely by surprise. I enjoyed the characters of Holly and Adam and I liked that romance (or a love triangle) wasn't the main thing that was centered in this plot as a main thing or even a side thing.

While this book did wrap things up well, there were a few things especially at the end of the book that I would've liked to see better resolved.

What's going on at Acorn Academy? Sorry, I can't answer that question because to do so would really spoil the book for anyone who reads it.

It's a slow steady read, that will keep you guessing on what is happening and who all the characters are.

While some of it is quite simple to guess other things are really creepy.

Nice clean read for the younger young adult and a fun one for the older YA and adults.
