I love the original LEAGUE books so this is a nice little novella that let's me get a glimpse of those characters. Though the science fiction elements are minimal in this one there is still a great romance. In typical Kenyon fashion we have a very troubled and damaged hero who needs the love of a compassionate woman to heal him. I have no problem with this story line and Kenyon definitely packs a strong punch considering this is only a novella. Livia is pretty innocent and still very sweet considering her upbringing but Adron really needed someone light in his life. As a side note I felt it was a little odd that Adron's ex-wife came about from a political marriage. After everything Nykyrian and Kiara (Adron's parents from BORN OF NIGHT) went through and the love they have, I wouldn't expect them to support a marriage that wasn't based on love.

This is part of the In Other Worlds book (which is 3 novellas in one book).

Very good book, focusing on Adron and Livia. Very reminiscint of Nykyrian and Kiara's story (Adron's parents), but with some notable changes. The only minor hangup I had about this book was that it is set in the future of the other books of the series, so it didn't feel like I was reading in the right order - BUT there weren't any spoilers for the future books of the series, except for mentioning people that were still alive (which isn't too much of a giveaway at all). My favorite novella of the book, this book was an intense (though short) read that had a couple of twists along the way.

Beautiful and sweet romance. It is a novella so doesn't take long to read. Even the sex in the book is beautiful.

A short story about a scarred, tortured hero and a sheltered, rebellious heroine who are perfectly suited to each other.

Adron lives in constant pain after the torture he endured a number of years ago and has shut himself off from the outside world and his family. Livia is a princess who refuses to obey her father who wants to marry her off to a man older than himself and runs off in a desperate effort to thwart his plans.

The two meet and end up saving one another, after overcoming the various obstacles in their way.

Interesting story in the League universe and the first one of the second generation. The series continues with [b:Born of Shadows|9447878|Born of Shadows (The League Nemesis Rising #4)|Sherrilyn Kenyon|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1437679905l/9447878._SX50_.jpg|13001362] which goes back to the first generation League.

This was surprisingly good for a short. But I didnt get how, if Adron was in such bad condition, and the smallest thing could trigger internal bleeding, why was he doing physical therapy? Shouldnt he be avoiding any movement? And why is he still all muscular if he has been almost immobile for 5 years?

This is a short story about Nyk and Kiara's oldest son Adron, and how he married his wife! I actually wish this book was longer, however it was a great introduction to The League 2nd Gen!
