Characters entirely relying on stereotypes. Crude drawings and somewhat uninteresting colors. There are some pretty violent moments and graphic details, but not in a charming way like The Boys.

Content warnings: violence, murder, drug use, bestiality

What do you get when you mix up some Breakfast Club and a school for assassins? You get Deadly Class, which is a fun and exciting read. Rick Remender writes a lot of funny and intense moments. Plus Sebastian Girner's kinetic art leaves it very easy on the eyes.

Interesting enough to make me want to read the next one. The art is reminiscent of [b:Batman: The Dark Knight Returns|59960|Batman The Dark Knight Returns (The Dark Knight Saga, #1)|Frank Miller|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1327892039s/59960.jpg|1104159], which is appropriate for the setting's era.

A beautiful, vicious story of sex, drugs, and assassinations.

While the foreword and afterword explain a lot, I can't help but be disappointed there was no deeper theme to the murdering other than violence. What is it to take a life, right vs wrong, consequences, etc wasn't fully explored. It was just a bunch of misfits killing each other. And the art was average, nice tone though.

Really love how dark this is! I'm definitely interested to continue reading the rest of the comics and (maybe) starting the show.
