This was such a fun read! I didn't know where it was headed in the beginning, and I wasn't completely along for the ride, but I found myself hooked once we got to the school.
A high school that trains assassins. This first volume is already crazy, with an acid trip and several killings. We're also introduced to what I assume is the major villain that Marcus has to face in the series. Great artwork that really helps tell the story.

a great comic book, loved it!! can’t wait to read the next one
I have mixed feelings about this, it was awesome but creepy and wild, idk. Too much happens and that's what keeps it interesting for me. So I'll continue to read them.
Second Read: October 9th-October 12th
First Read: March 1st-3rd 2015
That. Was. So. Good.

So this is the first volume of Deadly Class...I read it out of order, so I read this volume after the second volume. Therefore, much of my confusion has been settled, and I feel like I have I much better grasp on the story line and feel a little more connected to the characters.
However, this still doesn't change my not-so-great rating for the second volume, just to be clear. I do feel this volume was very good, not in the sense pure. I would say this story is dark, gory, and melancholy. In this volume you get introduced to Marcus.
Now, even though I got to see a little deeper into Marcus' life, I must still admit I am not very fond of him. I prefer the crazy supporting characters, over our main character. Marcus, has a past...a gloomy past sure, but I can't seem to feel empathetic towards him or even relate. Marcus is one of those narrators you put up with because the story is completely engrossing. I mean look at how bad ass everyone looks!

While the second volume made me want to throw up half the time, the first volume was nice for me because it had more story vs violence. And while with a title like Deadly Class, about a group of kids training to be assassins you would expect violence, you don't know violence till you have read these books. I hope to read the third one soon. I am really unsure if there is any light at the end of the tunnel for these guys, but in my heart I am hoping there is in the foreseeable future. Because it is just so easy to love many of these characters, and kinda feel bad for them too.
So if you want something different, different from those Spiderman and Superman comics (WHICH ARE NOT BAD BTW) pick up this volume. Get sucked into the mayhem and debauchery that is Deadly Class. The person who is so absorbed with Deadly Class well, "this is who I am now,".

can’t find anywhere to rewatch the show, which I barely remember past a sort of vague enjoyment, so decided to read the source material — it’s fine, fun but a bit cliche and overwritten, and some of the characters dialogue (mostly Willie’s) sounds very weird and forced — it’s Fine.
