I like it but I feel like it would have worked better as a college and not as high schoolers.

There wasn't really anything wrong with this comic, on the contrary, I found it to be a pretty realistic representation of being an outsider in the 80's, just with everything pushed to the extremes. It was dark, gritty, had a great overall tone that matched up to the story..

But for some reason it just didn't blow me away? I'm not sure if I was expecting something different or just didn't connect with it enough or what the issue is to be honest, it was good- it just didn't grab me.

Will most likely still read future volumes.

I keep an eye on Remender because he has a habit of taking a generic premise and spinning it into something weird and good.

Here we have a school for assassins - nothing new, been done before and high school is pretty deadly to start with.

Remender, Craig and Loughridge turn it into something angry and honest. It feels real, despite the premise and it has a very strong visual identity. The book is pulsing with life and snarling with death.
