Great writing accompanied by fantastic art and STUNNING colours. I especially loved all of the drug-induced hallucinations in the last issue .
However, for me the violence was sometimes a little too over the top (even though I know this is a book about murder) and I could've done without the homophobic slurs. I understand this is set in a "different time" and can add to the characterisation of whoever is using this language, but I honestly believe you don't have to use it to make your point. There are other, more subtle ways to achieve the same effect.

I saw the trailer for the live action series on Facebook and I was curious. I knew my library had the books. A high school for the offspring of the world’s craftiest and deadliest killers and assassins so they can also learn proficient ways to kill. Although I didn’t love this first volume, I do want to read the entire series.

I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed this graphic novel. It is one of my favorites so far. The characters are relatable but without losing the features that make them different from regular people. Synopses don't do it justice because they make the story sound cliche. The plot is excellent. Also the artwork is fantastic. I highly recommend it.
