I never imagined myself ever reading this series but I started it and boy I was missing out big time!
This was so fun, action packed, violent and everything you want from a story about an assassin school!
A very strong start :)

Dark, Gritty, violent, badass, and some cool ass characters. This book takes a group of broken kids into deadly Assassins. Count me in

This was such a fun graphic novel! Excited to continue

I was expecting something exciting, a school for assassin sounded awesome but we don't get to see the school much. I was mostly bored and the art was underwhelming.

2023 (JULY) - 5 STARS
This thing rips with wild violence and solid comedic timing. A secret assassin prep school filled with the kids of powerful folk and a newbie outsider off the streets who just wants to kill President Reagan? Rad. The protagiston is ferocious with admitted vulnerability that he respects and fears, as he just wants to be loved yet is fully prepped to be thrown away. He can't tell if he loves oblivion or it's just how life's swung. He's got charm, moxie, and regrets. Boy howdy, is he in for a ride.

2016 (SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER) - 4 STARS
What fun it is to follow the next generation of assassins at school like it's no big deal. This does a killer job of making the wild and impossible seem plausible and mundane. It's what makes for a compelling story, to feel the remnants of adolescence sweep through teenagers capable of bonkers carnage. They're being trained for it, but they aren't quite there yet.

Have you ever felt as if you don't fit in; class, school, life in general? Well here you still have your cliques but the school itself if for the more unique students. Psychopaths and killers, welcome to the school of assassins. The newest member starts today, see him start to accept his surroundings and work out what he needs to do in order to survive. An interesting idea which mirrors closely the need to fit within society and high school drama. A worthwhile read and can't wait to understand more of his background.

Mmm... I am very unsure about this so far. I think an assassin school can be a cool plot for a graphic novel (like what I had said for Nevernight), but I felt like we were being explained things in not great depth, which made things a little confusing. I think this will, ofc, be dealt with later, but it seemed a bit chaotic in a weird way, I suppose. I did, however, had a huge issue with the animal abuse references within this book. To me, many things are not off-limits for horror but animal (esp. sexual) abuse, yea that is. Just do not.

This comic is like Harry Potter except instead of a wand you have a gun, and instead of magic spells you have bullets and this is nothing like Harry Potter at all. Kids go through a tough time trying to kill people while being taught how in a no-holds-barred comic about helping folks shuffle off their mortal coil.
