4.5 stars, thinking of giving it 5, if it wasn’t because I figured who the murderer was early on. Loved the main characters and the bridgerton vibes. Can’t wait to read book 2.

If Agatha Christie, Georgette Heyer, and Monty Python wrote a book together, surely it would be this. Delightfully quirky and absurd and perfect for those who appreciate a dry, tongue-in-cheek sense of humor.

Vaguely regency (assuming from blurbs?), though no date at the start, and I can't tell if it's intentionally anachronistic or haphazardly so (and I do not mean "anachronism" as a dog whistle for queer characters or feminist themes that are NOT actually anachronistic, I mean, like, a character has a rubber whoopee cushion and it's annoying me because it isn't a funny enough joke for the absurdity). Realizing I am just not the target audience for this book and it's making me feel like a curmudgeon!
