This was a fun take on Regency stories, but I had a hard time staying awake during the first third of the book. The author used many words to say one thing (which is theme appropriate!) but it just lulled me right to sleep. Once we got through the expository portion, it was a fast read with no more naps.

I loved the atmosphere, it was so whimsy and I enjoyed the murder mystery! I thought it was executed well but I felt like the ending fell flat.
Parachute hat?!?!?!? It felt absurd and yes the whole book has a slightly silly tone but if there was a different twist maybe?? It was super predictable but I did enjoy it!
This book is ridiculous, and also just what I needed. Did I know that I needed to read a satirical Regency mystery? No, I did not, but I sure found it, and it's delightful. I found myself repeatedly laughing at loud, and smiling with enjoyment. For those who enjoy satire, you'll enjoy this!

Well there was quite a bit going on in this book by the end but darn it, I had so much fun reading it! The story and characters kept me engaged and there were so many laugh-out-loud moments throughout.
