A parody of regency fiction whose over-eager references to decorum, etiquette, and ladyship boarders charicature. The protagonist is quick-witted but architypal misfit of a young woman, whose charm is the primary entertainment for a good amount of the book. The murder (which is advertised in the blurb on the back cover, so not a spoiler), happens 100+ pages in. Only then does whodunnit mystery plot begin. The details from the long exposition did not seem relevant to problem-solving, so I stopped investing more time into this novel.

Light and goofy, but not enough meaningful content or puzzle solving to keep me hooked.
