So I love Kieron Gillen, he's probably one of my favorite graphic novel writers and I haven't picked up any of the young Loki stuff that I haven't enjoyed so this is a great combo for me. This graphic novel has obviously come after some I haven't read, but it wasn't a problem understanding what was going on. Mostly I just love young Loki. Mischievous, sarcastic and just lots of fun.Nothing ever quite goes right for him, but his cleverness usually wins out in the end. The fact you have a character who is trying to be different that the person he was is always a good story, too.

Anyway, this is a great graphic novel. Loki is dealing with the aftermath of a battle where he evidently had to kill his brother Thor. He doesn't seem to have most of his memories from the time and the worlds are full of consequences of the battle. This book it's the kids of earth, plagued by nightmares that a fear god is feeding of off until they die. Loki is the worst of all so he's helping to save a world full of kids from their nightmares until he can't stay awake any longer and has to risk his own life to finally confront the fear god.

It was a great book, even being part of a larger story. I highly recommend it, or just anything by Gillen.

This took a while to get from the library and by the time I got it I had really built this up in my head. Still, it delivered. Writing was funny and wonderful and the story was so compelling. Plus a board game! Ack!
