I picked this book for an assignment off a list. I picked it because it dealt with migrants (a topic related to my thesis work) and I wanted something current and anthropological. This was not only anthropological and really thorough, it was current in its research content and tone. I appreciated the personal aspects of the study and the researcher's clear opinions, withheld from readers until she has given scaffolding for both sides of an argument or issue.
